A RARE ARTS AND CRAFTS ENAMEL BANGLE, BY HENRY WILSON Set with a cushion-shaped sapphire, the mount with a frieze of pinkish-cream cloisonné enamel clouds to the blue and green cloisonné enamel shoulders of varying design and red enamel and cabochon sapphire detail, circa 1905, 6.0 cm wide, with French import mark for gold Accompanied by a letter dated 20 August 1959 reading: This gold and enamelled bracelet was made for Nina, Lady Collet, by Mr. Wilson at his workshop in Kent. Nina, Lady Collet, died in 1922 and was a sister of Penelope, Countess Stamford. The bracelet is set with a sapphire, which was bought in Ceylon by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Theobald, Mr. Theobald being a brother of Penelope, Countess of Stamford. The bracelet was given some years ago by Violet, Lady Collet, to Roger, Earl of Stamford, who gave it to Mrs. William Higginbottom on the 20 August 1959. Stamford.

Arts and Crafts Gold and Sapphire Dragon Bangle Bracelet, Riker Bros. 14 kt., the bangle with 5 winged fire breathing dragons interspersed by 5 round sapphires ap. 3.50 cts., with maker’s mark, ap. 15.1 dwts. Inner cir. ap. 7 1/2 inches. Riker Bros. was one of the most well known of the famed American Newark Jewelers during the late 19th century through the early 20th century.

14K ARTS & CRAFTS SAPPHIRE & DIAMOND BANGLE BRACELET CA. 1900-1910: 14K yellow gold Arts & Crafts bangle bracelet contains one old mine cut diamond, approx .10 Ct., rated VS in clarity and H-I in color. Diamond is between two round native cut sapphires, approx. .25 Ctw. The diamond and sapphires are bezel set. Hinged bangle with locking closure and safety chain. Small dent. Gallery needs a few small solders. Weight: 12.9 grams. Diameter: 2 3/8”.

An Arts & Crafts boulder opal torque bangle With A.E.V.L. mark for Albert E.V. Lilley, the cabochon flanked by confronting wire scrolls, the scroll terminals each enclosing a small opal cabochon.
Albert E.V.Lilley (1892-1940) was a painter of landscapes, architectural subjects and flowers. Albert studied at the Margaret St School with Gaskin (the photograph illustrates Gaskin & Lilley in the back row) where he may also have studied jewellery making. He exhibited paintings at the R.B.S.A. and R.A. and worked in Belgium and Holland. He joined the staff of the Wolverhampton Art School, living in Dudley, and later moved to Sheffield.
